Moon Mirrors Us Into Monkeying Around

Cosmic Update

Greetings Keeper of Time,

Happy Lughnasadh, first harvest and approach of autumn, as the wheel of the year turns…

You might catch some celebratory shooting stars, even amidst the brightness of the almost full Moon, which shines tonightwith Jupiter & Saturn (yellowish, less bright) in the southeast.

Monday’s Full Moon in Aquarius and opposing Sun in Leo are both squared by Uranus in Taurus. Look into the mirrored-face of Full Moon in Aquarius (Sunday and Monday nights) to see and embody glimmers of perceptual purposing toward what’s ours to do in bringing about the next phase of the Age of Aquarius (which comes to the fore at Winter Solstice’s Jupiter/Saturn conjunction). This energy disruptively challenges us to learn to take action from new places in our beings, especially as we learn to honor both our creative individuality and our contributions to the collective, with our own radically embodied uniqueness and sense of timing!

Lots of energy Monday as, also at the Full Moon, Mercury in Cancer opposes Saturn in Capricorn. Here, at the close of Mercury’s very long (including a retrograde) stay in Cancer, which has had us reconsidering home, family, and ancestors in our thinking and communicating, is a powerful time for remembering ourselves as ancestored people as we recover our sense and experience of our own humanity. How do we meet and communicate  with authority, structure, and tradition as more mature and sovereign ancestored beings?

And, also at the Full Moon, Mars in Aries squares Jupiter in Capricorn. Our creative will is best expressed in slow, expansive ways, rather than letting the impatient entitled adolescent in us lash out as it grabs and pushes for what it wants.

This coming week of the reflective and perception-altering Mirror wave, on Friday delivers us to the Monkey wave and the central transformation-of-the-transformation phase of this themed-with-becoming-Real round of waves that began back in the last days of March. Monkey leaps into the transformational moment, teaching us how to meet the real by curiously discovering, with a sense of playful purpose, through the ongoing process of crafting a life. What’s real has been in question, and now our purpose is to learn to discover and meet the real, and through doing so, to learn to live anew.

Also on Friday, Venus moves from its long stay in Gemini (a retrograde, and new cycle) into Cancer, where our learning in relation to loving and valuing shifts into nourishing and nurturing territory after much reflection and revision! We’re about to have the opportunity to be in love with the ancestors we’ve been meeting, to be at home in new ways, and to honor the exquisiteness of our feeling nature (when we’e not wallowing in issues or emotionality)!

Last fall, I was interviewed for the Bespoken Bones podcast. I geeked out in a big way on ancestor tracking, reality, rivers, the Paleolithic, stars, inviting, and so much more. Enjoy!

Consider an Ancestor Tracking Session. This is a time for remembering ourselves as humans, connected with the humans that came before, as well as their times and places.
