Follow the Moon

Greetings Keeper of Time,

You are cordially invited to follow the Moon this entire cycle, and along the way, come to be more at home with the phase-changing rhythms of waxing and waning, and so much more…

The New Moon and the Moon wave are upon us, and toward the possibility of each of us truly engaging with the Moon cycle that is about to unfold, here are the dates when the Moon will most closely be visiting the visible planets and brightest stars.

If you have a star chart or an iphone app, you can use them to help you follow along…

Go outside each night and take a look and say hello. Be amazed at how fast the Moon moves across the sky night to night, from appearing in the west just after sunset as a crescent, then two weeks later rising full in the east as the sun sets. Along the way the Moon will show you the path of the planets and the zodiac!

Fri 5/30 – Sliver of a Crescest Moon will appear low in the west just as it’s starting to get dark, and just to its right with be the planet Mercury.
Sat 5/31 – Moon near Jupiter shining brightest white, with the Twin stars of Gemini above them
Tues 6/3 – Moon approaches Regulus, the Heart of the Lion/Leo, then Wed 6/4 found just past the heart of the Lion
Fri 6/6 – Moon approaches Mars shining bright and reddish, the Sat 6/7 just past Mars
Sun 6/8 – Moon near Spica, the Seed Jewel in the hand of the Goddess/Virgo
Mon 6/9 – Moon approaching Saturn shining bright and yellowish, and by the two stars of the claws of the Scorpion Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali, the Tues 6/10 just past them
Wed 6/11 – Moon just above the star Antares, the red heart of the Scorpion
Thurs 6/12 – The Full Moon rises as the sun sets and crosses the Milky Way near the center of the galaxy
After this, the Moon will start rising later and later in the evening in the east, and you can also see it toward the west before dawn.
Tues 6/24 – The waning Moon joins wildly bright Venus in the east before dawn, 6th divestment / 2nd chakra
Wed 6/25 – You may or may not be able to see the very last sliver of the Moon before the coming of the dark of the moon
